I have been here at Mohommad Chand Hair Cutting Salon for a long time now. The shop sits on Sardhana Rd in the Kanker Khera part of Meerut. It’s right in the middle of Nagla Tashi and the busy Kankerkhera Mkt area. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. I unlock the door and start getting things ready for whoever walks in first. It’s a simple place with mirrors and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. People from around the market usually drop by when they have a bit of time between their own chores. Sometimes it gets crowded and people just sit outside or lean against the wall while they wait. We don't have fancy stuff here, just the basics like scissors and combs. The noise from the road stays with us all day, bikes and trucks going past towards Sardhana. You get used to the sound after a few months. It's just how life is in this part of Meerut. By the time evening rolls around, the light inside feels a bit dim but we keep going until it's late. It isn't much to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done for everyone living in the 250001 zip code area. We see the same faces every month or so when their hair gets too long. It is just a regular shop where work happens every single day without much fuss.
