Meena Beauty Parlour & Gift Centre

Me and my family have been running Meena Beauty Parlour & Gift Centre here in New Govind Puri for quite some time now. We are located right opposite the big water tank, which makes us pretty easy to find if you are walking around Kanker Khera in Meerut. It started out as just a small idea because I wanted a place where people could get a quick haircut and maybe pick up a nice present for a birthday or a wedding at the same time. The shop is usually full of different things, from bangles to little decorative items for the home. Most days, I am behind the counter or helping someone decide on a gift while the girls handle the threading and hair work in the back area. It gets a bit crowded on weekends, especially when there is a festival coming up and everyone wants to look their good. I like the chatter of the neighborhood ladies who drop by just to say hello or see what new stock we have brought in for the gift section. We try to keep things simple and honest here. It isn't a fancy place with big lights, but we keep it clean and we know most of our customers by their first names. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. That is just how life is in this part of Meerut.
