Kanak Hair Saloon

If you go down to Pallavpuram in Meerut, you’ll find Kanak Hair Saloon. It's situated at DH-141, near Palhera Village. I set this place up because the neighborhood needed a local spot. It’s a quiet area mostly. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done. I have a couple of chairs and the tools I've used for years. I like to keep things organized, even if the shop is small. People from the village and the Phase I area stop by regularly. I remember most of their names by now. We talk about the local news while I work. Sometimes the kids come in for their school cuts. That’s usually the loudest part of my day. I don’t use any expensive products, just the stuff that works. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but it helps me see what I’m doing. I usually open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Sometimes later if someone is in a hurry. I don't really do appointments; people just walk in and wait their turn on the bench. It’s a steady business. I enjoy the routine of it. The walk from my house isn't long, which is nice. It’s just a humble place for a haircut. No big deal. I’ve been doing this since I was a young man and I don’t plan on changing much. It’s a good life.
