Being at 39, Shivaji Chowk means there is never a dull moment outside. We are right by Begum Bridge, which is easily one of the busiest parts of Meerut. If you are looking for us, the H.P. petrol pump is the best landmark to use because everyone knows where that is. The shop stays quite busy because of all the people passing through to get fuel or to cross the bridge. I usually get here around nine in the morning and the noise of the horns is already starting up. In Style Hair Salon isn't a very big place, but we make the most of the space we have. The walls have a few posters on them and the floor is tiled, though the tiles are getting a bit chipped at the edges now. People come in from the heat to sit under the fan for a bit. It is a good spot to watch the world go by while working. I’ve noticed that people are always in a hurry around Shivaji Chowk, so we try to work steady and keep things moving. We don’t do anything too flashy, just standard hair cutting and shaving for the local men and travelers. It can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting on the bench, but no one seems to mind much.
