Chauhan Hair Salon

If you are in the Brahmpuri area of Meerut, you will find Chauhan Hair Salon right on the main road. It’s easy to spot because of the blue door. I’ve been running this salon for a while now. Even though we call it a salon, it’s a very practical place. We focus on getting people in and out so they can get back to their day. Being on the main road means we get a lot of noise from the buses and motorcycles, but you get used to it after a week or two. Brahmpuri is a crowded neighborhood, so there is never a shortage of people needing a haircut. I usually have one or two other guys working with me so we can handle the rush. We have a big mirror that runs along the whole wall and we keep our combs and razors in little plastic trays. It isn't a very fancy setup, but it works for us and for the people who live around here. We see a lot of students and workers who just want a clean look. During the rainy season, the shop gets a bit damp because of the roof, but we manage. We have a small radio that plays songs from the movies to keep things lively. Most days are just about keeping the shop clean and making sure the customers are satisfied with their shave or cut before they head back out.
