Nandini Fast Food

If you’re ever walking down Car Street in Mangalore, you’ll find Nandini Fast Food. It’s a very busy street, especially during the festival times when the whole area is packed with people visiting the temples. We have a small space here, but we make the most of it. It’s all about getting food out quickly to people who are on the move. We don't have much seating, so most people just stand around or take their food with them. The air in Mangalore is always a bit salty and humid because of the ocean, and it gets really hot behind the counter where we are cooking. We’ve been on Car Street for a long time and have seen many changes in the shops around us. Sometimes it feels like we are constantly cleaning up because of the dust from the street, but that’s part of the job. We start early to get everything prepped before the first customers show up. It’s a simple life, mostly just focused on making sure the ingredients are fresh and the stove is working right. There isn't much time for sitting around when you're running a fast food joint. I usually go home with sore feet at the end of the day, but it’s a good kind of tired. We don't need fancy marketing or anything like that because the smell of the food usually brings people in anyway. It’s just our little spot.
