Janatha Caterers

Janatha Caterers is located inside the Hotel Shaan Plaza over in Mangalore Ho. It is a busy spot and we have been here for a while. Usually, the day starts with checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be picked up from the local markets. Being based in a hotel building like Shaan Plaza means there is always someone coming or going. We have a small team and everyone knows their role. Some of us focus on the heavy lifting while others handle the finer details of the cooking. The kitchen is where we spend almost all of our time. It is a practical space, built for work rather than looking good. We do not use any fancy machines, just the usual stuff you would find in any local kitchen. Mangalore Ho is a central area, so it makes sense for us to be here. The logistics are easier when you are in the middle of everything. We often find ourselves working late into the night to get things ready for the next morning. It is tiring work, and our hands are usually stained with turmeric or smelling like onions by the end of the shift. We do not mind though. It is just the way we make a living. The noise of the city outside is a constant backdrop to our work. Sometimes we take a break and sit near the entrance of Shaan Plaza just to catch some fresh air before the next shift starts up again.
