Arun Motor Driving School

Kankanady is a busy spot in Mangalore, and that’s where we’ve been running our driving school for a good number of years now. If you know the area, you know how the roads can be, especially when the monsoon hits and everything gets slippery. We’ve got a small place near the main junction. It’s mostly just me and two other instructors who have been with me since the beginning. We use some small cars because they are easier for beginners to manage on these narrow streets. I spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating timings because everyone wants the early morning slot before work. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings while I’m out with a student, I just have to call back later. The office has a few chairs and a table where we explain the signs and the gear system. It’s a simple setup. We’ve taught a lot of people from the nearby colleges and families who live around here. Sometimes the traffic near the hospital gets really bad, so we have to plan our routes carefully. It’s honest work, and I like seeing someone go from being terrified of the steering wheel to driving confidently on their own. We just keep it simple and practical. No big promises, just showing people how to drive safely so they can get their license without too much fuss.
