Our branch is located in Mangalore, specifically tucked inside Kadali Mahal on Gundurav Lane. It is a bit of a hidden spot in the Mannagudda neighborhood, but it works perfectly well for us. We are actually staying at Mrs. Premalatha Rao’s property, which gives the whole office a much more personal feel than if we were in a big, cold commercial plaza downtown. We handle all kinds of travel bookings and local tours. It is a fairly small space inside, so we are often bumping into each other when the office gets busy with customers. Mangalore is a coastal town, so we always have that salty sea air coming in through the open windows. We spend our days looking at flight prices and checking bus routes for the local people. It involves a lot of typing on old keyboards and talking on the phone. We have a small sign hanging outside so that people do not miss the turning into the lane. The neighborhood around here is mostly residential, so it stays quite calm and quiet during the day. We know all the neighbors and the people who run the local shops. Sometimes we head out for a quick coffee at the corner stall when the work slows down. We do not have a massive team, just a few of us who have been doing this work for years. We try to keep track of all the changes in travel rules which keeps us busy.
