Akbar Travels

You can find us right in the heart of Kannur here in Kerala. Akbar Travels has been a part of this town for a long time. Our office is a busy place where people come in to talk about where they need to go. We deal with bus tickets, train bookings, and flights mostly. It’s often quite crowded in the mornings because everyone wants to get their travel sorted early. The ceiling fans are always humming and there's a lot of chatter. We don't have a fancy website-looking office. It's just desks, chairs, and maps on the wall. We know the routes around Kerala and the rest of India pretty well. We don't use big words or try to sell you things you don't need. We just look at the schedule and tell you what’s available. Sometimes the ticket printers jam up and we have to fix them while someone is waiting. It’s just part of the daily routine. Most of us speak the local language and know the families around here. We’ve seen many people go off on their trips and come back with stories. We stay in 670 002 zip code area and just keep the shop open for whoever needs to move from one place to another. It’s a straightforward job and we like the people we meet every day. The tea man brings us cups twice a day and that's when we take a small break. We keep the shop open until late in the evening.
