Ksrtc

This is a bit of a local setup out here in Nellyady. We are based at Pattejalu House, which is where Guddappa’s son stays. It’s in the Puttur Taluk area of Dakshina Kannada. It’s very rural out here, lots of trees and quiet roads. Even though the name on the papers says Ksrtc, we operate from this house in the village. It’s not a big bus terminal with hundreds of buses. It’s more of a local point for handling things related to the transport side of life in this part of the country. I spend a lot of time talking to folks from the village who need help with travel or have questions about the routes. It’s a simple office, really just a room with some files and a phone that rings more than you’d think. Living and working in Nellyady means things move at a slower pace than in the city. You know everyone who walks by the gate. Sometimes we sit on the porch and discuss the day’s work while the sun goes down. There isn't any corporate polish here. We just deal with the realities of transport in a village setting. The rain can be heavy and the power goes out, but we just keep the records as best as we can. It’s just a small part of the bigger picture, tucked away in Pattejalu House. We just do our bit for the community here in Dakshina Kannada and keep moving.
