Indigo Restaurant

You can find Indigo Restaurant over at Joy Villa. It’s actually part of the Mogurkody House in the Konchady area. We are in Mangalore, specifically the 575008 area code. It’s a bit of a different setup because it feels more like a home than a standard shop on a main street. We have been cooking here for a while. The kitchen is always the busiest part of the house and it gets quite warm. You can usually smell the spices from down the road when the wind is right. We don't really go for that high-end look with tablecloths and all. It’s just simple tables and chairs where people can sit and eat their lunch. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood run past the front door making noise. It’s a real local spot. Mangalore is a place where people really care about their food, so we try to keep things consistent every day. We don't have a big menu that changes all the time. We stick to what we know how to cook well. The address is Konchady Post, which is a nice part of town with a lot of trees around. We spend most of our mornings getting everything ready for the lunch rush. It’s a lot of chopping and cleaning up. By the time the evening comes, we are pretty tired but it’s good work. We are just regular people serving food to our neighbors. It’s not a chain or anything like that. Just Indigo Restaurant at the villa, doing our daily thing.
