Hotel Poonja International

Our setup for Hotel Poonja International is a bit unusual because we operate care of Mr. D.R.B. Roy at the Canara Bank on Lanka Road in Varanasi. It’s not the actual hotel building itself, but this is where a lot of our administrative and banking stuff gets handled. Lanka Road is always packed with people, rickshaws, and cows, especially being so close to the university. Having our base at the bank helps us stay organized in the middle of all that chaos. We aren't some big international chain with a glass office in a skyscraper. We just have a small space where we sort out the accounts and the mail. It gets very hot and dusty in Varanasi, especially in the summer months. Sometimes the noise from the street is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. But we’ve been doing this for a long time, so we’re used to it. We don't have a big team of people in fancy uniforms here. It’s just us working through the piles of paper. We don't spend money on fancy decorations for this office. It’s strictly for work. We just want to make sure the business side of the hotel is taken care of so things run smoothly. It’s a practical way to manage things in a busy city like this.
