Adlabs Films might have Mumbai in the name, but our daily life happens right here in Mangalore. We are situated in Kalpane, which is part of the Kulshekar Post area. It is a bit of a change from the massive film studios you might imagine in the big city. Our office is a local space where we handle media and film-related work without much fuss. We have some computers, some screens, and a lot of cables running across the floor. It isn't the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. The team is small, and we all know each other well. We don't use a lot of fancy industry jargon when we talk to people. We just explain what we can do and then we get to work on it. Kulshekar is a nice place to be based because it feels like a real community. We see the same people at the tea shop every morning. We don't have a marketing budget or a big shiny sign out front. Most people find us because they heard from someone else that we do okay work. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish an edit or fix a technical problem, but that is just part of the job. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our work in Kalpane and go home to our families at the end of the day.
