Misri Majri is a bit of a drive out, but that’s where you’ll find our place. Being out here in Mandi Gobindgarh means we are right in the thick of things for this kind of work. The air is always a bit metallic and there’s usually a thin layer of dust on everything. It’s just the way it is around foundries and casting shops. Our location in the Amloh tehsil is pretty straightforward to find if you follow the main roads past the post office. The yard stays busy with trucks coming in and going out at odd hours. We have a lot of heavy machinery that makes a fair bit of noise, so we’ve all gotten used to shouting a little to be heard. It’s hot work, especially when the furnaces are going in the middle of summer. We mostly wear old clothes that we don’t mind getting dirty. Dist. Fatehgarh has a lot of places like ours, but we just try to do our own thing without worrying much about the rest. Sometimes the mud in the yard gets thick when it rains, making everything a bit slower. We have a small area where we sit and eat lunch together away from the noise. It isn't a fancy office by any means. It’s just a workspace where we deal with alloys and castings all day long. The work is hard but it keeps us busy and we like the routine.
