Tarun Steel Industries

Our workshop is located right on Main Bazar on Post Office Road. If you are near Dr. Bansal’s clinic, then you are basically right there. It is a busy street, especially with people going in and out of the post office all day long. We work with steel here, so you will usually hear the sound of metal being cut or ground down. It is a small industrial setup, but we stay busy with the work we get from local people. The front part of the shop is where we talk to customers, and the back area is where all the actual labor happens. It gets really hot in the summer months with the machines running, but that is just part of the job we do. We have stacks of metal sheets and iron rods leaning against the walls most of the time. It is not the cleanest place because there are always metal shavings and dust on the floor. We’ve been in this same location for many years, so we know all the other shopkeepers around here. We don’t really do any advertising; people just know we are here and what we do. Usually, someone brings in a rough drawing or an idea, and we see if we can make it for them out of steel. It is practical work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. Sometimes the work is loud and difficult, but that's how it goes for us.
