Calcutta Steel Industries & Steel Re Rollers is located right on Plot No. 6 along the G.T Road in Model Town. Being on the G.T Road means we see everything that passes by. It’s a loud and busy place to be. We do re-rolling, which is a lot of heat and heavy machinery. The shop floor is always hot, no matter what time of year it is. We’ve got the rollers going most of the day. It’s a rhythmic sound that you get used to after a while. We aren't a new company. We’ve been at this spot for many years. The building shows its age a bit, but the machines still run fine. We don't bother with painting the walls every year or having fancy desks. We’d rather spend that time and money on keeping the equipment maintained. The staff knows the routine by heart. We get the raw material in, heat it up, and roll it out. It’s a process that hasn't changed much for us. Model Town is a familiar place, and being on the main road helps people find us without much trouble. We don't do a lot of fancy talking. If someone wants steel, they come in, we talk about the specs, and we get to work. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. We keep our records in big binders and hope for a steady supply of power. When the workday ends, we lock up and head home to rest for the next one.
