Being located in Loha Bazar means things are always loud and busy. Our shop, which is number 34 in Sector-3, Block-A, is right in the middle of all the action. We deal with steel, mostly rods and flat sheets. It is heavy work, and our hands are usually covered in some kind of grit or black grease by the time lunch rolls around. We have been at this specific location for many years. The market here is tight, so parking is always a big struggle if you are coming with a large truck. Most of our regular customers know to come early in the morning before the narrow lanes get totally blocked up. We handle various sizes of steel, and the inventory changes quite a bit every day. Some days we are moving tons of metal, and other days it is just small bits for local repairs. My brother and I run the daily operations, so there is always one of us here to talk to. We do not have a big office or anything like that, just a simple desk and a few old chairs tucked away in the corner. It works for us. People know us for being around when they need a specific gauge of steel. We do not promise anything we cannot actually do. If the supplier is running late, we just tell you. That is the reality of the steel business. Sometimes prices go up and down like crazy, which makes things stressful.
