Kanhra Agro Farmer Producer Company is based in Village Kanhra, out in the Mohender Garh area. We are set up near the bypass at Mahender Singh’s house, number 100. It is a pretty straightforward operation. We are farmers who decided to team up because doing everything solo was getting too difficult. The bypass makes it easier for trucks to get in and out, which helps when we are moving produce. Village life here revolves around the seasons. When it is time to sow, everyone is out in the fields from sunrise. When it is harvest time, it is even busier. Our little office at House 100 is where we keep the records and meet to talk about the business side of things. It is not very formal. You will usually find someone there with a ledger and a cup of tea. We talk about fertilizers, equipment, and which markets are buying. Mohender Garh is a good place for this kind of work, though the soil needs a lot of attention. We have all grown up here, so we know the land better than anyone else could. The goal is just to keep the farms running and make sure the families here can keep doing what they have always done. We do not use fancy words for it. We just work the land and try to be smart about how we sell what we grow. It is just life.
