Maa Pateshwari Vegetable Producer Company Limited is based out of Harpur Mathiya in Nautanwa. We are located at House Number 2 G, near Khalikgarh. Our focus is mainly on vegetables. We grow everything from green chilies to tomatoes and pumpkins. The work starts very early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. We have to pick the vegetables and get them ready for the market while they are still fresh. It is a lot of bending and lifting. We started this company because selling small amounts of vegetables on your own is really hard. Now, we try to pool our harvest so we can get a better deal. The office is just a simple place in the village where we keep our crates and some basic records. Sometimes the rain is too heavy and washes away the seeds, which is always a worry. We talk about the soil and how to keep it rich. We aren't experts from some university, just people who have been farming this land for years. Everyone in the village knows everyone else. We share what we know and try to keep things moving. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy. We just want to keep the vegetable business going here in Nautanwa. It is what provides for our families and we take it seriously.
