Arvika Kaptanganj Farmer Producer Company Limited

You can find us at House Number 323 in the village of Lakhima. Our mail goes to the Samdar Khurd post office. We started this producer company because the farmers in the Kaptanganj area needed a better way to coordinate. Most of us have been working these plots of land for as long as we can remember. It’s hard work and it doesn’t leave much time for anything else. We use the house as a base of operations for the paperwork and the meetings. It’s not a fancy office, just a room with enough chairs for the directors and whoever else drops by. We talk about things like which crops are doing well and how we’re going to get the harvest moved. There’s no big hierarchy here. Everyone is pretty much on the same level, just farmers helping each other out. Dealing with the weather is our biggest challenge, as it is for everyone in Lakhima. Sometimes the monsoon is too heavy and sometimes it doesn't rain at all. We just take it as it comes. Having the company helps us buy things in bulk which saves everyone a bit of money. It’s a practical way to survive in this business. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where to find us. We’re usually out back or in the fields near the house. It's a simple, honest way to live and work, and we plan on keeping it that way for the future generations of our families.
