Rudrapuragro Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Shivnath, in the Nautanwa area of Maharajganj. We are pretty close to the border, so things can be interesting around here. Masahur Rudrapur is the contact point for our group. Maharajganj has some good land, but it requires a lot of looking after. Our group is made up of people who have lived here their whole lives. We decided to form this company to handle our produce without too many middlemen getting in the way. It’s a learning process for all of us. Dealing with the bank and the registration papers took us a while, but we got there eventually. We meet up when the sun isn't too hot to talk about the next planting season. The crops depend on the rain, like everywhere else. We’ve had some good years and some bad ones. Mostly we grow grain and some vegetables. The work is hard on the back, but we’re used to it. We try to help each other with the transport. Loading the trucks is a big job. We don’t have fancy logos or big signs. It’s just the name on the papers and us working in the fields. We hope that by staying together, we can make a little more profit for our families back in the village. It’s just a local effort. We are doing the best we can with what we have here.
