Paneer Salon

Paneer Salon is situated at No 37 on Thirumogur Road in Chakra Nagar. We are right in the Othakadai area of Madurai, directly opposite Anantha Store. It’s easy to find us if you know where the store is. The shop is just a regular hair salon where we do the usual cuts and shaves for the local men. We have a couple of chairs and a large mirror that’s seen better days, but it does the job. Most of the people who come in live right here in Chakra Nagar. They usually stop by after work or on their way to run errands. We don't really do anything fancy or modern, just the standard styles that people around here like. It’s a small space, so it can get a bit crowded on weekends when everyone decides they need a trim at the same time. We have a small bench for people to sit on while they wait their turn. There's usually a newspaper lying around or some local talk going on. The fan on the ceiling wobbles a bit but it keeps the air moving. Being across from Anantha Store means there's always something happening on the street outside. We open early and stay open until the evening most days. It’s a simple life running a salon in Madurai. We just keep the scissors sharp and the combs clean and wait for the next person to walk in and take a seat.
