Arasu Salon

Arasu Salon is over here in Othakadai, right on Thirumogur Road. If you know where Bose Complex is, we are just opposite to that. It’s a good spot in Madurai. We have been cutting hair here for a while. It’s not a big fancy place with air conditioning that freezes you. It’s just a regular salon. We have a few chairs and big mirrors. The street outside is usually busy with people going toward the temple or the market. We see a lot of local faces. Madurai is a town that loves its traditions, and we try to keep things simple. We do haircuts and maybe a shave if that’s what you need. My uncle taught me how to use the razor safely. It’s a skill you don’t forget. We don’t have a manager or a front desk. You just walk in and say hello. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it’s slow. The sun hits the front of the shop in the morning. We use local towels and basic soap. It’s practical. No one comes here expecting a movie star makeover. They just want to look decent for work or a wedding. We do our best with what we have. It’s a small business, just like many others on Thirumogur Road. We are glad to be here and see the neighborhood grow around us every single year.
