Arasan Salon

You can find Arasan Salon out on Kamatchi Nagar Main Road. We are in the Vadipatti area of Madurai, not too far from Old Vilangudi. The road gets a lot of dust from the traffic, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the city center, which is nice for us. We just focus on doing hair for the local guys around here. There isn't much to say about the shop itself except that it serves its purpose. We have a couple of chairs that have seen better days but are still comfortable to sit in for a quick trim. Sometimes we talk about the weather or the local news while we work, but mostly we just get the job done so people can get on with their business. The light in the back of the shop flickers if we turn on the heavy equipment, but we’ve learned to live with it. It’s just how things are in Vadipatti. People walk in, say hello, get their hair cut, and head back out to the main road. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It is just a place to get your hair shortened or your beard fixed up before you go home to your family. We like being part of the neighborhood here and seeing the same people every month. It’s a decent life.
