Pali Travels

We are situated in the basement of the Nankana Sahib Complex, right there at shops 6 and 7. It’s directly opposite the Ludhiana Bus Stand, so it is a very busy location to be in. Every morning when I open up, I can hear the conductors shouting and the horns honking from across the road. We’ve been in this basement for quite a while now. It’s a simple setup with a couple of desks and some chairs for people to wait. A lot of travelers stop by because they are already at the bus stand and need to arrange something further for their journey. The air in the basement can get a bit still, so we keep the fans going all day. Working here means you meet a lot of different people from all over the state. I spend most of my time on the phone or talking to people who walk in with questions. It’s a straightforward kind of life. We don’t do any fancy advertising; people just see our sign when they are near the bus stand and come down the stairs. It gets a bit hectic during the festival seasons when everyone wants to go home at the same time. We just try to manage the crowd and get everyone’s tickets sorted. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from morning until late evening most days.
