Wildlife Expedition

Our office is located on Changspa Road, just across from the Moravian Mission School. It's a quiet part of Leh compared to the main market. At Wildlife Expedition, we focus on the animals and the high-altitude treks. A lot of people come to us wanting to see a snow leopard in the winter. It’s hard work, sitting out in the cold for hours, but that’s just how it is here. We spend a lot of time planning the logistics for treks because you can't just wander out into the mountains without a plan. We have guides who grew up in these valleys and know where the blue sheep hide. The office is small and filled with maps and gear. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations. It’s more about the boots and the tents. We talk to the locals in the smaller villages to know what’s happening in the national park. The weather changes fast in Ladakh, so we are always keeping an eye on the sky. If you’re looking for us, just find the school and we are right there. We enjoy showing people the parts of Ladakh that aren't just the famous lakes. There is a lot of life in these dry mountains if you know where to look.
