Ladakh My Trip

We are over here at Onpo House on Old Road. If you walk past the Grand Dragon Hotel, you will see us. We’ve been in Leh a long time. It’s a small office but it works for what we do. People come in and talk about their plans for the mountains. We know the roads around here because we live here. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, but that is just how things are in Ladakh. We handle the paperwork and the cars and the drivers. It isn't anything fancy. Most of the time we are just sitting here drinking butter tea and waiting for the phone to ring. If you need a permit or a car to go to Pangong, we can sort that out. My cousin helps out sometimes too. It’s a family thing mostly. We don’t have a big glossy brochure or anything like that. Just a desk and some maps on the wall. The traffic on Old Road can get a bit loud in the summer when all the tourists arrive. We usually stay open late if there is work to do. It’s a quiet life in the winter though. Everything slows down when the snow comes. We just try to make sure people get where they need to go without too much trouble. It is a simple business. Come by if you are near the hotel.
