Adventure Travel House

We are based at the Zabbala Hotel on Zangsti Road in Leh. It is a central spot and there are always travelers coming in and out. We go by Adventure Travel House and we have been part of the Zangsti Road community for a long time. Our setup is pretty basic. We have an office where we sit and figure out how to get people to the different corners of Ladakh. We are just local staff who grew up in these mountains. We know the high roads to Nubra and the cold winds of the lakes. People come into the hotel and ask us about the best way to spend their time here. We just give them the local perspective. We don’t have a big philosophy or anything. We just know which drivers are reliable and which roads are blocked by landslides. Dealing with the high altitude is a big part of life in 194101, so we always tell people to take it slow. Our work involves a lot of waiting for permits and making sure the logistics are solid. It is not glamorous, but it is what we do. We like being in the middle of town where we can see everything going on. If you need something, we are usually just right there at the hotel. We spend our evenings checking the route updates so we can tell people what to expect tomorrow.
