Atisha Travels

Atisha Travels is based on Fort Road in the Malpak area. Fort Road is usually the heart of everything in Leh. It gets very crowded with shops and people walking everywhere. Our office is right in the middle of that. We’ve been here in Leh Ho for a while now. We handle a lot of different things, like arranging cars or helping with flight tickets when the planes can't land because of the clouds. It’s a bit of a messy office sometimes with papers and tea cups. We aren't trying to look like a big international firm. We are just local guys who know how the transport works in Ladakh. Malpak is a busy neighborhood. We see the same faces every day. If the road to Manali is closed, we are the ones hearing about it first. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just talking to people who walk in off the street. It’s practical work. We tell people the truth about how long it takes to drive to Nubra Valley. It’s a long way and the roads aren't always great. We just give the facts and try to help out. We like living here despite the dust and the busy summers. Most evenings we just close up and go home to our families nearby. It’s a regular life and we are happy with it.
