Western Tibet Expedition

Western Tibet Expedition is located in the Main Market area, tucked away on Zangsti Road. If you go behind the State Bank of India, you will find us. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, but that suits us fine. We aren't really the type to shout for attention. We’ve been operating out of this corner of Leh for quite some time now. The market is always changing, with new shops opening up every year, but we stay pretty much the same. Our office is filled with things we’ve collected over the years—mostly old maps and notes from previous trips. We don't follow a strict corporate script when we talk to people. We just talk like normal people do. If a road is blocked by a landslide, we tell you straight. There is no point in making things sound better than they are. We know these mountains can be unpredictable. We spend a lot of time drinking salty tea and talking to the guides who just came back from the high passes. They have the best stories about what’s actually happening out there. We just try to keep things organized so that when someone wants to go out and see the remote parts of the region, we are ready to help. It’s a simple life, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here in the market.
