Indus Himalayan Explorers

You can find us at the Shamshu Complex on Fort Road here in Leh Ho. It is a central spot in Leh Ladakh 194101, which makes it easy for people to drop by when they are walking through the market. Indus Himalayan Explorers is basically just a few of us who like being outdoors. We chose this name because the Indus river is such a big part of our life here and the mountains are everywhere you look. Our office is a simple one, nothing too flashy. We keep our maps and some old gear around. Fort Road can get quite noisy with all the motorbikes and visitors, but inside Shamshu Complex, it is a bit more grounded. We have been doing this for a long time, mostly because we don't know any other way of life than being in the Himalayas. We aren't here to give you a sales pitch. If you want to know about a certain trek or a road trip to the lakes, we just tell you how it is. Sometimes the weather is bad and we tell you to stay in town. That’s just being honest. It is a small community here in Leh, so everyone knows everyone. We are just locals who know the shortcuts and the quiet spots that aren't on every single map. That is why we keep the office open.
