Indian Himalayan Expendition

Indian Himalayan Expendition is located in the Mentokling Complex over on Changspa Road. If you are staying in Leh, you’ve likely walked down this road at least once. It’s the main stretch where people go to eat and find things to do. Our spot in the complex is pretty straightforward. We don’t spend much on decorations or shiny signs. Most of the time, the office is just a place to organize things and meet up before heading out. The walls are a bit plain, and the floor creaks a little when you walk in, but it works for us. Changspa has its own rhythm. In the morning, it’s quiet until the sun gets high enough to warm the valley. Then you start hearing the shops opening up and the water running in the irrigation channels nearby. We’ve been in this area for a bit, so we’ve seen how much it changes every year. It’s a lot of work keeping things running when the season is short, but we manage. We aren’t really the type to sit around and write long letters about what we do. We just keep the door open and help out whoever stops by. Sometimes we just sit outside on the steps and watch the world go by. It’s a good way to spend an afternoon in Leh. We keep things simple and try not to overcomplicate the day-to-day work here.
