Himalaya Bikers

If you’re walking up Shanti Stupa Road in Changspa, you’ll probably see us working on some bikes. Himalaya Bikers is mostly about the machines and the long rides. We spend a lot of time with grease on our hands, making sure the Royal Enfields are running right before they head out to Khardung La. The air is thin up here, and the bikes feel it just as much as the people do. We’ve been in this part of Leh for a long time. Changspa is a nice area, a bit away from the main bazaar noise, but still busy with travelers. We keep a fleet of bikes ready for the rough roads. Sometimes the chain snaps or a tire goes flat on the gravel, so we prepare for that. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like it. The sound of an engine starting up in the cold morning is something we never get tired of. We don't have a big corporate setup, just a garage and some space to talk about routes. We can tell you which paths are rocky and where the water crossings are deep this time of year. Every season is different depending on how much it snowed in winter. We just want you to have a solid bike under you. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it so the riders can enjoy the view.
