Explore Himalayas is located right in the heart of Leh's Main Bazar. We are pretty much across from the State Bank of India, so we see a lot of the daily bustle from our door. Our mailing address is Box 45, but most people just walk in. We’ve been here for quite some time, watching the town change over the years. This business is just a few of us who really know the mountains around here. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just help people get outside and see the hills. The office is a bit small and usually filled with gear or maps. It’s a busy spot because the Bazar is always active. We deal with all sorts of requests, from short walks to longer stays out in the valleys. Since we are right in the middle of town, we get people dropping in all day. We try to be helpful and give real advice based on what the mountain passes are actually doing that week. It’s not always easy work, especially when the weather turns, but we enjoy it. We are locals who grew up with these views, so we don't take them for granted. If you're walking through the market and see the bank, look across and you'll find us. We don’t do things the corporate way. We just do things the way they’ve always been done here, with a bit of patience and local knowledge.
