Ancient Tracks

You will find Ancient Tracks located in the Main Bazar of Leh, not far from the SBI Bank. It is a handy location because most people end up in the bazar at some point anyway. We have been working here for years, mostly focusing on the older trails that people used to take long ago. We are just a small group of locals who grew up in these mountains. We don't use much modern marketing; we mostly rely on people telling their friends about us. Our office is a bit small and can get crowded when we have a few groups leaving at the same time, but we manage. We spend a lot of time checking on the horses and the camping gear because that stuff has to be perfect when you're out in the wilderness. We don't promise luxury because that’s not what the mountains are about. We promise a real look at the landscape and the villages. Sometimes the snow stays late on the passes and we have to change plans at the last minute. That is just how life is here in Ladakh. If you are near the bank and want to talk about trekking, come in. We will give you a cup of tea and tell you what the conditions are like up high. It’s always better to check before you head out.
