You can find Payal Resrtaurant near the chauraha in the Kotri Gordhanpura area of Kota. Being near a main crossroads means we see a lot of students and travelers. Kota is famous for its coaching centers, so we get many young people coming in who are far away from home. We try to keep the food simple, like something they might get at their own house. The restaurant isn't very big, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon. My uncle started this place a long time ago and I just took over helping him out. Rajasthan is dry and dusty, so we are always cleaning the tables. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Most people just know us because we’ve been here for years. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we keep the shutters halfway down sometimes. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regular customers who stop in for tea.
