Archi Bhojnayalya

Our little bhojnayalya is located at Shop Number-1A 4 on Sheela Choudhary Road. We are right in the Talwandi area of Kota, which most people know is full of students and hostels. Being near the HDFC Bank helps people find us, but we are just a modest shop on the street. Inside, it’s all about the food and nothing else. We have stainless steel plates and simple benches for people to sit on. The kitchen is right there, so it gets pretty hot, especially during the Kota summers when the temperature goes way up. You can smell the rotis being made on the tawa and the dal simmering in the big pots. We get a lot of young students who are away from home for the first time. They come in looking for something that tastes like a normal meal. We don’t have a fancy menu with photos or anything. We just tell people what we made for the day. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. We start early in the morning to get the vegetables chopped and stay open until the dinner rush is over. It’s a busy life, mostly spent on our feet, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the kitchen going and the plates moving.
