Jodhpur Restaurant

We've been here in Gumanpura for a while now. It’s a busy spot in Kota and we just try to keep things moving. My family started this place because we liked cooking the food we grew up with. Jodhpur Restaurant isn't anything fancy, just a plain building with some tables and chairs where you can sit down and eat. Most days it gets pretty crowded around lunch time when people from the shops nearby come in. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen making sure the pans are hot and the food is ready. Some people say the street outside is too loud but once you're inside with a plate of food, it doesn't matter much. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to get the job done. It’s hard work being on your feet all day in the Rajasthan heat, but it is what it is. We buy our vegetables from the local market early in the morning so they are fresh for the day. If you are walking around Gumanpura, you will probably see our sign. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people telling their friends about us. It’s just a simple place to get a meal without any fuss. We keep the water cold and the floor swept. Sometimes we run out of things if it's a busy Friday, but we just make more the next day.
