Veg India Exports, Erode

We are based in Erode, at a place called Cashew House. It’s been our base for a long time, and we still use P.B. No. 13 for all our mail. The building is mostly used for storing and sorting things before they go out. It’s a very practical space. There are big scales for weighing and lots of crates stacked up to the ceiling. Erode can get very hot, so the warehouse part is always a bit warmer than we’d like. We spend most of our time checking the look of what comes in from the local growers. It’s a lot of manual work, looking at things and grading them by hand. We have a small office tucked in the front where we keep the computer and the phone. It’s usually pretty quiet until a truck arrives, then everyone has to move fast to get things loaded up. We eat our lunch together in the small break area behind the main office. There is no air conditioning, just some big industrial fans that move the air around. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know the routine by heart. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just sort the goods, pack them up, and send them where they need to go. The dust from the sorting can get in your eyes sometimes, but we wear masks.
