Bakre Starch

We are located out in Mundakkal West, specifically at Palms Dale, though most people just use the P.O. Box 100 address for the mail. Bakre Starch has been part of this area for a long while now. Working with starch is a messy business sometimes, and you can usually tell what we do just by looking at the clothes of the guys working in the back. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it is quieter than being in the middle of the city. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We wake up early, get the machinery going, and start processing whatever batch is ready. There are days when things break down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing a belt or a pump, which is just part of the job. It’s not a high-tech operation, but it works for us and the people who buy from us. The office is tucked away, and it’s usually filled with stacks of old files and the smell of the nearby coast. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a handful of local folks who have been with us through plenty of seasons. Sometimes we sit out front during the breaks when the weather isn't too hot. It’s a simple way to run a business, but we prefer it that way. Most people around Mundakkal know the place and the people who work here.
