Zaqafa Leathers

Down here in the 2nd Lane of Topsia, things can get a little crowded, especially when the delivery vans are trying to squeeze through. Zaqafa Leathers is located at 14/2, and you can usually hear the calls from the Jinnati Masjid nearby throughout the day. It’s a busy area with a lot of leather work happening in every other building. Our workspace is pretty practical and maybe a little cramped, but it works for what we need to do. The smell of leather is something we don't even notice anymore, though visitors always mention it first thing. We spend a lot of time sorting through hides and checking the stitching on various pieces. It’s hands-on work, so our clothes usually end up a bit dusty by the time we head home. We don't have a big sign or a fancy showroom, just our name and the work we do inside these walls. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the lane a bit difficult to manage, but we just put on our boots and keep at it. The local tea seller knows exactly how we like our drinks, and that’s one of the best parts of working in this neighborhood. We are just a group of people who know leather well and spend our hours making sure the orders are handled properly. It isn't a glamorous life, but it is honest work and we have been doing it for years.
