You can find Wu Leathers over at 113D, Matheswartala Road. This area is always moving. The street is busy with people carrying bundles and carts rolling by. Our building is a simple one. Inside, the smell of leather is the first thing you notice. It’s strong, but we don’t even notice it anymore. We have rolls of material leaning against the walls and scraps on the cutting tables. It’s a bit messy, to be honest, but it’s an organized kind of mess. We know where everything is. The lighting isn't the brightest, so we have some extra lamps over the work stations. We spend our days cutting, measuring, and looking over the hides. There’s a small radio that usually plays in the background, though half the time it’s just static. We’ve got a couple of heavy sewing machines that make a lot of noise when they’re running. It’s just a few of us here. We take our breaks on the stools near the door so we can watch the street for a bit. Matheswartala Road has its own rhythm. It’s loud and a bit chaotic, but it suits what we do. We don’t have a big storefront. People usually find us because they know the address. We just focus on the leather and getting the pieces right. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. We're just a small shop doing our best with what we have.
