Our office is tucked away in Dumdum Park, at number 264. Kolkata is a crowded city, but this area has its own rhythm. We mostly deal with conveyor systems and the parts that go with them. It’s a lot of technical talk and looking at diagrams on old desks. The building isn't brand new, but it works for what we need. Sometimes the fans are a bit loud in the afternoon heat, but that's just how it is in West Bengal. We spend a good amount of time talking to suppliers and making sure the orders for the corporation are moving along. People stop by the office to drop off papers or just to chat about the local news. Being in Dumdum Park means we are part of the neighborhood. You can hear the city life outside the window all day long. We don't have any of those shiny glass walls or fancy reception areas. It’s just us, some computers, and a lot of talk about engineering and conveyors. Some of the staff have been here for years, so we all know each other's coffee orders. We handle the Indian side of things for the main company. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the demand, but we just take it one day at a time. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till the sun goes down over Kolkata. We don't try to be something we are not. Our door is usually open for whoever needs to come by and discuss a project.
