Tapan Varities

Tapan Varities is located on R N Avenue in Kolkata. It is a pretty straightforward place. We have been here for a good amount of time, watching the street change as the years go by. The address is 700110, if you are looking for the pin code. Our shop is small, but we try to fit as many different items as we can onto the shelves. It gets a bit cramped sometimes when we get a new shipment of goods. We sell all sorts of small things that people realize they forgot to buy elsewhere. It is not a big supermarket or anything like that. Just a local variety store where the door stays open most of the day. The noise from R N Avenue is constant, but you get used to it after a while. Most of our customers are just people walking home from work or locals who live in the nearby buildings. We spend the morning sweeping the front and getting things ready for the day. Sometimes we have a chat with the neighbors while we work. The lighting inside is okay, but not very bright. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because that isn't really what we are about. We just want to have the items people are looking for when they step inside. Dealing with the heat in Kolkata is the hardest part, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the shop. We just keep the water bottle handy.
