Street Corner

Street Corner is located at 123, Jessore Road. This is a very busy stretch of road with cars, buses, and rickshaws going past at all hours. Our shop is right on the edge of the pavement, so we see a lot of people walking by every day. The space inside is quite small, so we have to be very careful about where we put things. We don't have a lot of storage, so new stock arrives frequently. The walls are covered with shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. We use a tall ladder to reach the items at the top. It gets quite noisy because of the traffic on Jessore Road, but you get used to it after a while. We have a small counter where we handle the money and talk to the customers. Sometimes people stop in just to get out of the sun for a minute or to ask for directions. We don't have a fancy sign, just the name Street Corner painted above the door. The floor is made of old tiles that have a few cracks in them. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass windows because the dust from the road builds up so fast. It is a simple shop in a busy part of the city. We open early and stay open until the street lights come on. It is just a regular job for us at number 123. It's a good spot to be.
