Spencers Retail Ltd

Our Spencers Retail Ltd place is right on Hidaram Banerjee Lane in Kolkata, and if you know this area, you know how busy these narrow streets can get. It’s 700012, right in the heart of things. We’ve been operating out of 9B for some time now. The building is old but it holds up. Every morning, there’s a specific smell of the city—exhaust fumes mixed with breakfast being cooked nearby. We usually get in early to beat the worst of the traffic. There’s a lot of noise outside from the rickshaws and people rushing to work, but inside it’s mostly just us getting the inventory sorted. We don't really do anything special, just keep the shelves filled. The space is a bit tight, so we have to be careful how we stack the crates. Sometimes the fans don't move enough air on those really hot afternoons, but we manage. Most of the people who come in live just a few houses away. We recognize their faces, even if we don't always know their names. It’s a simple routine. We check the stock, talk to the distributors when they show up, and try to keep the place tidy. There’s always something that needs fixing, like a squeaky hinge or a flickering bulb. We just deal with it as it comes. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood, and we like being part of the daily bustle here in this corner of the city.
