Spencer'S Retail Ltd. (Rpg Group)

Our spot is over in Jadavpur, specifically at Flat No. A1 in Bijoygarh. Being part of Spencer'S Retail Ltd. (Rpg Group) sounds a bit official, but when you are actually here in the office, it feels much more like a regular Kolkata home. The building is 4/10 Bijoygarh, and if you know this part of the city, you know how crowded the lanes get. We spend most of our mornings just trying to get the computer started and making sure the files are where they should be. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything. It’s just a flat where we handle the daily tasks that come our way. The tea man comes by around eleven, and that is usually the highlight of the morning for the three of us who sit here. There is always some noise coming from the street outside—horns honking and people shouting—but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, so we just sit and talk until it comes back on. We aren’t trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the records are updated and the shipments are tracked correctly. It gets a bit dusty because of the constant construction nearby, so we are always wiping down the desks. It’s just a regular job in a regular part of West Bengal. We keep things moving as best as we can without making a fuss about it.
