Shreya Retail

If you walk down 48 Dum Dum Road, you’ll find Shreya Retail. We are right there in the middle of all the chaos that Kolkata is famous for. It’s a small shop compared to those massive malls, but we like it that way. We’ve got shelves packed with all sorts of things that people in the neighborhood need. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work and stops in to pick something up. The shop is a bit cramped, and sometimes you have to squeeze past boxes that haven't been unpacked yet, but that’s just how retail is. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s usually just a couple of us behind the counter or restocking the back. We know a lot of our customers by name because they’ve been coming here for years. We try to keep the prices fair because we know how it is for families living around here. Sometimes the overhead lights flicker a bit, or the fan makes a weird clicking noise, but we just keep going. Dum Dum Road is a busy place, and there’s always something happening outside the door. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the locals have a place to buy their stuff without having to travel too far. It’s a simple business, really. We open up early and close late, and that’s basically our whole week. We just enjoy being part of the local street.
