South Point has been at 16 Mandeville Gardens for quite a long time now. If you know the Ballygunge area, you probably know the school or have seen the students in their uniforms around the neighborhood. It’s a residential part of Kolkata, but during school hours, the streets around Mandeville Gardens get incredibly busy. We have a lot of people coming and going. The building is just a regular school building, nothing too flashy, but it’s seen a lot of history. Most of us who work here are used to the rhythm of the place. The morning rush is always a bit chaotic with cars and rickshaws, but once the gates close, it settles down into a routine. We have classrooms filled with benches and boards, and the corridors always have that smell of old paper and floor cleaner. It’s a big school, so there’s always a lot of paperwork to deal with in the office. To be honest, the rainy season is the toughest because the lanes around here can get a bit waterlogged, but we just put on our boots and keep things moving. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles; it's just a place where teachers teach and kids learn. It feels very much like a part of the local community, and most of the neighbors have grown up seeing the school right here on this corner. We just do our best to stay organized.
